We had our first Perforce Bazaar on Friday, Oct 26, and it was a success! The event was a fundraiser for the Kitchen of Champions, a hands-on, 12-week employment training program that helps prepare people for fair-wage positions in the food and hospitality industry. It's one of the many community fundraisers we organize at Perforce and we're always looking to do more.
The employee garage and parking lot transformed into a lively night market with the delicious scent of corn dogs, BBQ ribs, caramel apples, and toffee pudding wafting through the air!
Throughout the evening, merchants and guests were serenaded by the tunes of a solo musician in the garage, while those outside were treated to a live rock/hip hop band in the back lot. We had a variety of local artisans, many of whom were Perforce employees, showing off their handcrafted jams, wine, beers, clothing, jewelry, soaps, candles, dinnerware and more!
Some facts about Kitchen of Champions:
- $50 funds lunch for 1 student for 1 month.
- $100 funds bus transportation for one month for 1 chef in training.
Our goal is to double the size of the bazaar and funds raised next year year! Hope to see you there!
