Jon Berger

Biography

Jon Berger started his software career in 1970 programming in Snobol3 on a SDS 940. He has learned a few new things since then. He has worked for (among others) Blue Cross, PG&E, Ingres, and Informix. He is also a member of the California bar, and is currently a staff attorney at Perforce.

Jeff Bowles

Biography

Jeff Bowles has a varied background: he has done Unix kernel development, tech support for C compilers (and the people who use them), porting work, and sings as a tenor in the San Francisco Symphony. He's a Perforce Certified Trainer and Consulting Partner. He promises never to sing a presentation in the key of F#, even though it was Irving Berlin's favorite key.

Peter Jackson

Biography

Peter Jackson is a software architect working on software production processes at Symbian. A system manager and developer by background, he joined Psion in 1994 and became part of Symbian when it was formed in 1998. In 1999 he was part of the team responsible for introducing Perforce into the company and organizing the accompanying process changes and training. Configuration management and administration are now two of his key roles.

Mark Lentczner

Biography

Mark Lentczner is Co-founder and President of Glyphic Technology. After graduating from Harvard University, he did the "Valley Tour", working at Apple Computer, Opcode Systems, and the ill-fated GO Corporation, before co-founding Glyphic Technology in 1992. His past engineering work includes implementation of a Smalltalk system, developing application frameworks, design and implementation of a new object-oriented language, creation of Internet protocols and work on cellular phone-based applications. He thinks that software architecture should be delightful to look at and code should be a joy to read. As president of Glyphic, he leads projects in software design, and still manages to write code.

Rick Macdonald

Biography

Rick Macdonald lives in Calgary, Canada. His day job in the geophysical industry has kept him busy 23 years in the areas of software support, configuration and source management, and programming. Fond of Tcl/Tk, he has written TkGnats and TkSETI in addition to TkP4. With two young children, there is little time left these days for obsessions such as flying and playing classical and flamenco guitar.

David Markley

Biography

David Markley is an engineering manager with over 10 years of experience in software engineering. He has worked on large distributed systems, for his Carnegie Alma Mater, which pre-dated the Internet, as it is known today. He then worked on very high speed networking equipment at FORE Systems (now Marconi), which are becoming parts of Internet2. This is where he was first introduced to Perforce. He now works for Lycos as their Internal Tools Engineering Manger. In this role, he and his team develop tools that support the content publishing and engineering processes.

$cott Money

Biography

$cott Money is a Software Engineer with five years of professional Quality Assurance and Software engineering experience. He has worked at Summit Software developing automated tests to assure the Quality of a VBA integration API that is used by Microsoft VBA vendors (suffered with Source Safe there). He then moved on to work at Lycos as a software engineer developing tools to support the process of deployment of content for presentation on the Internet.

Tadd Ottman

Biography

Prior to working at Docent, Inc., Tadd Ottman led software configuration management efforts and promotion of makefile guidelines at Sun Microsystems, Inc. for eight years. More recently, he worked as a software consultant on an Interactive TV project while living in Hong Kong for three years. Tadd holds a B.A. in Music (bassoon) and a M.S. in Quantitative Business Methods from California State University, Hayward. He was the first UNIX administrator on that campus and nearly a permanent student of Philosophy and Computer Science. He and his wife are avid birders.

Shiv Sikand

Biography

Shiv Sikand received his BS and MS degrees in Physics and EE from the University of Manchester, UK. His main interests are in design automation and verification techniques for integrated circuits. Shiv is currently at SGI in Mountain View. He worked on the R10000 and R12000 microprocessors in the MIPS division before joining the Advanced Graphics Division to work on Bali, SGI's next-generation high-end graphics project.

Yael Stern

Biography

Yael Stern is a Configuration Manager and Program Analyst at Cimatron Ltd located in Isreal. In 2000, she graduated from Bar-Ilan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. She is responsible for Perl-based systems, VC++ and SQL-based applications in Cimatron's Infrastructure department.

Laura Wingerd

Biography

Laura Wingerd is Director of Product Technology at Perforce Software. She currently leads the P4Web development project, and continues to work with customers in her role as Perforce product expert. Her mission is to reveal the power and elegance of Perforce to everyone.

Sean McCune

Biography

Sean McCune graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 1987 with a BSEE, and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992 with an MSEE. He has 7 years of software development experience in the industrial automation field, and 7 years in the medical automation field, and is now working in the telecommunications industry. He has also founded his own company, Red Hand Software, where he does consulting and open software development. He divides his time between the forests of western Pennsylvania and the mountains of West Virginia, neither of which have broadband access (much to his dismay).
