2007 Perforce User Conference

   RJ Allen, WSI Corporation

RJ Allen has been working in the Unix world for the last 10 years primarily as a system administrator. He became the principal Perforce administrator following WSI's recent migration from ClearCase.  Allen is presenting Standardizing on Perforce with Neal Firth and Karen Brooks.

   Dan Bloch, Google

Dan Bloch has worked in software engineering and infrastructure for the past 20 years for a variety of companies, including Nokia, IBM, and Harvard University. Bloch is currently a senior software engineer at Google, where he is the technical lead for Google's Perforce Admin Team. Bloch is presenting Life on the Edge: Monitoring and Running a Very Large Perforce Installation.

   Karen Brooks, WSI Corporation

Karen Brooks has been managing software development and operations for a variety of companies. Her experience ranges from re-engineering in-house processes and systems, to delivering consumer-based software through resellers. At WSI she is responsible for internal operations including Customer Care, IT, Implementation and Training, Communications, and Facilities. Brooks is presenting Standardizing on Perforce with Neal Firth and RJ Allen.

   James Creasy, Perforce Software, Inc.

James Creasy is a software engineer at Perforce Software. He started working with computers in 1976. After writing scientific and instructional software at Cornell University, he moved to California and built legacy re-engineering tools at Mozart Systems Corporation and SEEC for twelve years. In 2001, he joined Gene Network Sciences to work in the new field of In Silico Biology and drug discovery, writing the award-winning VisualCell tool. When not working on the P4V Administration and Time-lapse View tools, or leftover cookies, he likes to race cars and teach classical piano. Creasy will be presenting Administration Best Practices.

   Neal Firth, SageRight, Inc.

Neal R. Firth creates tools that make development more efficient and developers more productive. From his earliest work with micro-code simulation as chronicled in Tracy Kidder's Pulitzer Prize-winning book, The Soul of a New Machine, he has consistently engineered efficient solutions for difficult problems. He has been a Perforce Consulting Partner since 2001, and a Perforce Certified Trainer since 2003. Firth is presenting Standardizing on Perforce with Karen Brooks and RJ Allen.

   Mark Fridrich, Blue Coat Systems

Mark Fridrich is a software development manager at Blue Coat Systems. Prior to joining Blue Coat, Fridrich has worked at Nortel, Tandem/HP, Chelsio Communications, and Echelon. His work and interests cover a broad range, including system software, communication protocols, database, and software development tools. Fridrich is presenting Migrating from Subversion to Perforce: The Methodology and the Migration Tool along with Vitalii Pokrovskii.

   Joe Leon Guerrero, Synopsys, Inc.

Joe Leon Guerrero is a senior R&D manager at Synopsys, where he has worked in software development and Configuration Management for 14 years, and has been instrumental in forming the architecture and processes for the software integration environment at Synopsys. He has also worked in the Electronic Design Automation industry for over 20 years, and previously developed EDA software at Cadence Design Systems and Daisyx Inc. Guerrero received his CSE with a Mathematics minor from San Jose State University, graduating with honors. He is presenting Product Engineering at Synopsys Using Perforce with Vishnu Pendyala.

   Dan Healy, Bank of America

Dan Healy is a Software Configuration Manager for BofA, first in San Francisco and Concord, California, and presently in London, England. He supports Perforce, ClearCase, and other software development tools. Healy has previously spoken at IBM/Rational conferences regarding WebSphere and ClearCase integration. A former programmer, he pioneered program trading, hedging, and index fund applications for Wells Fargo Investment Advisors, and Barclay's Global Investors in the 80's and early 90's. Healy is presenting Perforce Load Testing: Configuration & Execution.

   Brian Holtcamp, Perforce Software, Inc.

Brian Holtcamp is a principal product consultant at Perforce Software. He has 20+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on information design and usability. He has held positions ranging from Research and Development engineer in the aerospace industry to co-founder of a startup providing web applications. Holtcamp is presenting CSI: Perforce - Tracking Down Build and Runtime Problems Using P4V with Steph Turner.

   Slava Imeshev, Viewtier Technology Partners

Slava Imeshev is the founder and chief technology officer of Viewtier Systems, makers of Parabuild, a software build management server. He has over 15 years of experience as a software engineer, build management expert, and technology executive. Imeshev graduated from Samara Aerospace University in 1989 with an MSC.    Stewart Lord, Perforce Software, Inc.

Stewart Lord joined Perforce Software as a technical support engineer in 2004. Previously, he worked as a freelance software developer. Lord currently divides his time between software development and performance analysis. His hobbies include playing hockey and tinkering with his car.

   Vince Maiorana, BlueShift Technologies, Inc.

Vince Maiorana is the Technical Lead for BlueShift's software QA. He manages software quality for a robotic semiconductor wafer handling system. His present engineering work includes the design and automation of custom test systems, custom test frameworks, and release control for embedded robotic software. Maiorana has also developed test systems for machine vision mathematics, interactive television applications, and electrical systems simulation applications. He holds a BSEE and an MCS.

Maiorana is presenting Enterprise Automation: Canonical Automation for the Evolving Codebase.

   Jason Novecosky, Perforce Software, Inc.

Jason Novecosky started working at Perforce Software in 2000 and is the technical support manager for the Canadian office in Victoria, B.C.. Before joining the Perforce team, he worked as a system administrator for a local Internet service provider. Novecosky has a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture & Herbology), and his favorite pastime is training for long distance events (Triathlon).

   Vishnu Pendyala, Synopsys, Inc.

Vishnu Pendyala is working as an R&D engineer at Synopsys. He holds a BE(CSE), MBA(Finance), and MS(CE) degree from Indian and U.S. universities. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and has presented and published widely-referenced papers for various international conferences and publications. He is a frequent technical paper reviewer for professional journals and conferences, including the annual IEEE International Conference on E-Commerce. Pendyala is presenting Product Engineering at Synopsys Using Perforce with Joe Leon Guerrero.

   Vitalii Pokrovskii, Blue Coat Systems

Vitalii Pokrovskii is a senior SCM engineer at Blue Coat Systems. Prior to working at Blue Coat, Pokrovskii worked at Documentum, Ariba, and Devicescape in various roles - SCM engineer and Perforce administrator, release engineer, tools engineer, Java developer, and Ariba migration engineer. He has also worked as a researcher at UC Berkeley, and at ETH, in Zurich, Switzerland. Pokrovskii is presenting Migrating from Subversion to Perforce: The Methodology and the Migration Tool with Mark Fridrich.

   Toby Roberts, Electronic Arts

Tobias Roberts is the Studio IT Architect for the EA Redwood Shores, Maxis, and Sims game studios. He has extensive experience in Linux systems administration, SAN tuning and hardware selection, and Perforce architecture. Prior to EA, Tobias worked for Telesoft Corporation in Phoenix, AZ, and several ISPs. Roberts is presenting Building a Perforce Server to Scale for the Next Generation of Game Development with Mike Sundy.

   Michael Shields, Perforce Software, Inc.

Michael Shields is currently the Performance Lab Manager at Perforce Software. He has developed and supported software since 1977. He has specialized in server optimization for software products including Perforce, Sybase and Ingres. He is the author of p4jrep (Perforce metadata replication). His hobbies include wine and cigars. Shields will present Perforce Performance.

   Tony Smith, Perforce Software, Inc.

Tony Smith joined Perforce Software in 2000, and is responsible for the provision of Perforce's trademark high quality technical support to Perforce users across Europe. He is an experienced developer and in addition to his management responsibilities, he is also responsible for the development of P4FTP, P4Perl, P4Ruby, p4migrate, and perfmerge++. among others. Smith will present A Walk on the Wild Side: Migrating and Merging.

   Dan Steele, Perforce Software, Inc.

Dan Steele is currently a senior technical support engineer at Perforce Software. Over the last 12 years, he has also worked as a systems administrator and developer. He loves GNU/Linux and Perl. Steele is presenting Authentication Options in Perforce.

   Mike Sundy, Electronic Arts

Mike Sundy is the senior Perforce administrator for the EA Redwood Shores, Maxis, and Sims games studios. He also functions as a Worldwide Perforce Architect for EA. He has over 11 years of version control administration experience and has specialized in Perforce for the past five years. Prior to EA, Sundy worked for Ernst & Young, AvantGo, and Pretzel Logic (a CM consulting company). Sundy is presenting Building a Perforce Server to Scale for the Next Generation of Game Development with Toby Roberts.

   Alan H. Teague, Perforce Software, Inc.

Alan H. Teague has been designing, building, and managing software solutions for the past 25 years. He is currently the P4DTG Architect at Perforce Software. Prior to Perforce, Teague founded BePrivate to address the growing problems of spam and email privacy challenging Internet users. Teague was also chief technology officer at INBOXTV, a vice president of network development at Kinecta Software, and a key member of the client tools development at Illustra/Informix. Teague's research background is in artificial intelligence, graphical development environments, and application specific language design. He is presenting Creating a P4DTG Plugin: Integrating Perforce and Defect Trackers.

   Stephanie Turner, Perforce Software, Inc.

Stephanie Turner is a UI programmer working on P4V at Perforce Software. Prior to joining Perforce, she held technical fulltime and consulting positions for Valid Logic Systems, Cadence, Synopsys, Cisco, Reuters, Stanford, and Simplex/Cadence. She loves playing tennis and sailing. Turner is presenting CSI: Perforce - Tracking Down Build and Runtime Problems Using P4V with Brian Holtcamp.

   Tom Tyler, The Go To Group

Tom Tyler started his career at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in 1990 and has since worked in various software development organizations. As chief technology officer for The Go To Group, he is the evangelist behind their Software Production Line Automation (SPLA) business. He is also a contributor on the National Consensus Standard for Configuration Management (ANSI/EIA 649 Revision B). Tyler has been consulting in the Configuration Management field for 10 years, and is a certified Perforce Consulting Partner and Trainer. Tyler will be presenting Perforce Branching - Moving Fast from Theory into Practical Application.
