To unlock one particular file,

  1. Click on the locked file that you want to unlock.
  2. Select Unlock from the pulldown menu. The file is unlocked.
To select more than one file to unlock,
  1. On the Files tab, select the directory that contains the files you want to unlock.
  2. Select Unlock... from the pulldown menu. This brings up a form that lets you choose files to unlock.
  3. Select the files you want to unlock. See below for a description of the form.
  4. Click the Unlock button. The files are unlocked.

The "Unlock Opened Files" form

If you select the Unlock... option with a directory selected, you see a form that lets you choose which of your opened files to unlock.

If you have more than one pending changelist you can choose to unlock the files associated with only one of them. To do this, check "Unlock files in changelist", select the changelist you want, and click the "Unlock" button. This unlocks the files in the selected changelist whether or not they are in the current path.

Alternatively, you can chose to restrict files to unlock by path. For more information, see Restricting Files Used in Commands. Click the "Unlock" button after selecting the files you want to unlock.

Only the files locked in your workspace can be unlocked. (See also Locking Opened Files.)
