Software Engineer - Eclipse Integration Developer - Alameda, CA
As a member of our software development team, this position is responsible for developing new and existing products for the Software Configuration Management market. Candidates must be experienced in writing high performance, portable software for multiple languages and operating systems, including Java, Unix and Windows.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Primary focus on the P4WSAD Eclipse software configuration management plugin
- Design, implement and test new products and features
- Ensure complete product quality
- Problem-solve and troubleshoot throughout all phases of the development software life cycle
- Provide technical assistance to cross-functional team members (Tech Support, QA, Documentation and Marketing)
- Occasionally interact with customers, and act as a company representative at technical forums
Qualifications:
- 5+ years industry level experience and a proven track record of successful development
- Strong client-side application and GUI programming skills in Java, preferably using SWT and associated event-driven patterns
- Strong real-world knowledge and experience of Eclipse usage on multiple platforms and project types
- Hands-on user experience with multiple real-world software configuration management (SCM) products
- Must be a team player, have time management skills, adapt well to changing work requirements, and be able to work independently
- Ability to adapt to varying coding styles and requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
Nice to have:
- Eclipse team plugin development
- Eclipse plugin development
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with developing on both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Mac OS X development experience
- Experience using the following: p4, p4d, jam
- Knowledge of multiple development languages
- Strong programming skills in C++
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.
- JUnit and Cruise Control experience
Principal Product Consultant - Alameda, CA
Based in our Alameda office, Perforce Software is looking for a Principal Product Consultant (PPC) to provide technical relationship management to high-value prospective Perforce Software customers, partners and OEMs.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Assess prospective customers' needs and requirements during discovery interviews
- Perform pre-sales demonstrations either on-site or via the web as required
- Build custom demonstrations to meet the requirements of prospects
- Develop responses to proposals requested by prospects
- Work the Perforce Software booth at tradeshow events
- Assist with the production of sales and marketing materials
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree-level or equivalent
- 7+ years practical experience working in the IT industry or within the IT function of an end-user organisation
- 5+ years working as a software/hardware engineer, or in technical support
- 2+ years working in sales, marketing and/or business development roles
- Writing and presentation skills to a high level
- Experience with account management
- Experienced at producing proposals and presentations
