Perforce Software Continues to Enhance Large Team Support
Perforce SCM 2002.1 Adds Features to Improve Performance For Sites With 500-1,000 Developers
ALAMEDA, Calif., April 17, 2002 - Perforce Software Inc., released version 2002.1 of its Fast Software Configuration Management (SCM) System. Perforce SCM 2002.1 gives large development sites with 500 to 1,000 users additional tools to improve system management and increase performance.
Specifically, Perforce SCM 2002.1 improvements include the following:
- Additional performance management control. System administrators can create group-based server utilization policies to manage the impact of runaway commands for more efficient use of server resources.
- Customizable installation and deployment settings. System administrators can customize Perforce's Windows installer with preferred settings specifically tuned for individual development teams.
- Support for internationalization (I18N) and localization (L10N). I18N and L10N features include support for Unicode file types, multi-platform character set translation, and localized client applications and error messages. Previously, I18N/L10N features only were available in the Japanese localized version of Perforce.
- Built-in support for Microsoft .NET. Users can access and update files stored in Perforce from within the Microsoft .NET development environment.
"The size of our customers is increasing and we are determined to ensure Perforce grows with them while remaining an unobtrusive SCM system," said Christopher Seiwald, President and CTO of Perforce Software. "We surveyed a number of our customers' sites who have between 500 to 1,000 users and at least a million files under Perforce's control, and honed Perforce 2002.1 to ensure our undisputable lock on high performance."
