Perforce Receives IBM Ready for WebSphere Studio Software Certification

WebSphere developers gain seamless access to Perforce software configuration management functionality

ALAMEDA, Calif., Nov. 22, 2004 - Perforce Software Inc., today announced IBM Ready for WebSphere Studio software certification for its Fast Software Configuration Management system. The Perforce Plug-in for WebSphere Studio, known as P4WSAD, supports the WebSphere Studio Workbench and Ready for WebSphere Studio software V2.1 family of products.

The Perforce Plug-in for WebSphere Studio

P4WSAD allows access to Perforce from within the WebSphere Studio WorkBench family of products, as well as from within Eclipse 2.0.2 or higher, providing easy access to all basic Perforce functions, including:

• Automatic grouping of checked out files into logical transactional units called changelists.
• Support for automatic file checkout and numbered changelists
• Quick access to complete file history.
• Full support of collaborative development with the ability to merge files.
• Decorations for Perforce-managed files, providing quick and easy file status.
• A built-in file compare utility and defect tracking support.

In addition, P4WSAD fully supports the refactoring functionality of the WSAD and Eclipse environments. When a refactoring task is performed, all changes to the affected files are automatically included in Perforce.

P4WSAD is supported on Windows 2000/XP and Linux operating systems. It is compatible with Perforce Server versions 2002.2 and later.
