Perforce Licensing

The Perforce End User License Agreement (PDF) is our standard commercial licensing agreement. All Perforce software you download is fully functional for two users and five client workspaces when used without a license. A Perforce license enables the Perforce Server to support more users and an unlimited number of workspaces and also entitles you to Perforce Technical Support.

Many of the frequently asked questions about our licenses are answered on our Licensing FAQ page.

Evaluating Perforce

If you would like to evaluate Perforce for more than two users, simply fill out and return this Evaluation Agreement (PDF). You will have full access to our Technical Support staff throughout your 45-day evaluation period.

Notes:

  1. Your first purchase includes a one-year price lock.
  2. The per-user price is based on the cumulative number of users purchased (not just the number of users in any one order) provided that a single End User License Agreement under one customer billing address governs all purchases.
  3. Perforce's per-user licensing limits the number of distinct users who can access the Perforce Server. Perforce does not limit access based on concurrent access: old users must be explicitly deleted from the system. There is no license manager to administer.
  4. Subsequent purchases will have the support/maintenance portion prorated to match the first purchase anniversary, ensuring that all users are coterminous for support renewal on the same license.
  5. Customers with 250+ users can purchase an alternative support plan, whereby interaction with the Perforce Technical Staff is priced at a flat rate per year, rather than per user. See "Designated Contacts Plan" below for more details.
  6. These prices are firm and require that you execute our standard End User License Agreement.
  7. Perforce can accept euros (the currency of the European Monetary Union) in payment for products or services.

Perforce Technical Support Offerings

New customers are required to purchase a license with technical support for their first 12 months. To learn more about all of our technical support offerings, please visit the Technical Support Offerings page.

Standard Support

This plan includes software upgrades, license maintenance, and unlimited access to Perforce technical support for an annual fee of $160 per user.

Designated Contacts Plan

Designed for companies with 250 users or more, this support plan enables you to save money by routing interaction with Perforce Technical Support through your specifically designated personnel. You can appoint up to five authorized support contacts to make technical inquiries for a yearly rate of $20,000. Software upgrades/maintenance are priced per user at $80 per year. Additional contact personnel can be added at $4,000 each per year.

24x7 Critical Care and Enterprise Support

For pricing information or to purchase 24x7 Critical Care or Enterprise Support, please call or email us.

Educational Licensing and Pricing

Bona fide educational institutions may be eligible to receive a Perforce license for use by students for classroom or research purposes. The number of users is not limited, but each designated technical contact will be charged $4,000 per year.

Execution of an End User License Agreement for Educational Users (PDF) is required. The license will be issued for a one-year term, and can be renewed thereafter via the same means.

Free Licensing for Open Source Development

Organizations developing software that is licensed or otherwise distributed exclusively under an Open Source license may be eligible to obtain Perforce licenses gratis. This includes upgrades but not support.

Perforce Software reserves the right to approve the Open Source license; those fitting The Open Source Definition, including the GNU and FreeBSD licenses, are good candidates.

Execution of a End User License Agreement for Open Source Software Development (PDF) is required. For more information, please see the Perforce and Open Source FAQ or contact opensource@perforce.com.
