Announcing TestTrack 2015: Organize, Visualize, Collaborate

Community
TestTrack 2015 was recently released with several great new features and a powerful new tool that's going to help you organize, visualize, and collaborate. Let's take a quick look at what makes TestTrack 2015 the best TestTrack we've ever released.

Interactive Task Boards

TestTrack's task boards are interactive, alternate views of folder contents that can help your team communicate and measure progress during a sprint, release, or other milestone. Task boards help with planning and collaboration during stand-ups, retrospectives, issue triage, and other team meetings. Items in a folder are displayed as cards in a task board. Cards are organized vertically in columns mapped to your workflow and horizontally in swimlanes by folder, user, relationship, or requirement document. You can drag cards between columns to change item status as work progresses and perform other actions, such as creating new related items, entering hours, and viewing time tracking information. Work in progress (WIP) limits can be set for each column to help identify bottlenecks. Organize and Visualize Work

TestTrack's task boards help you see the big picture, while managing individual tasks throughout the project or sprint. You can:
  • Configure each board using columns and swimlanes to match your team's workflow
  • Organize requirements, user stories, tests, issues, and tasks as individual cards on a board
  • Drag and drop cards across columns as progress is made
  • Provide the entire team with real-time visibility into the status of every task on the board
  • Drill down and investigate linked tasks and work items for an end-to-end view of the project or sprint

Plan and Collaborate as a Team

No matter how geographically distributed your team is, you can bring them together to review, prioritize, and update tasks and work items as part of your daily stand-up or weekly project review meeting. You can:
  • Update progress, re-prioritize, or re-assign tasks with simple drag and drop actions
  • Enable team members to access the board from anywhere in the world, to view and make updates in real-time
  • Keep users focused on their individual tasks and cards while the team focuses on the big picture
  • Configure multiple boards to give the team different looks at the same project
  • Automatically flag linked tasks when changes are made and ensure impacted users are notified

Provide Flexibility for Your Entire Organization

Support not only your team but every team in your organization with TestTrack's support for multiple task boards. You can:
  • Configure each task board to use different colors, workflow mappings, and WIP limits
  • Map each team's workflow to specific columns in a board
  • Organize requirements, user stories, tests, issues, and tasks as individual cards on a board
  • Use swimlanes to group cards by user, folder, or item type
So that's a little bit about TestTrack's interactive task boards, a powerful new tool to help you organize, visualize, and collaborate. We'll be talking more about task boards, so stay tuned as we dive deeper into what you can do them. However, that's not the only new feature in TestTrack 2015.

Source Files, Meet Matrix Reports

Here's another great new feature: matrix reports can now display the list of source file attachments associated with items for a quick view of end-to-end traceability. In addition, you can use new field codes to provide a list of source file attachments in email templates and requirement documents. The %SRCFILE% field code provides a full list of source file attachments and the %SRCFILECON% code provides a more condensed list. For example, you can now trace issue fixes back to code and associate source files with requirements. This new functionality is just one more way TestTrack gives you strong end-to-end traceability.

Paste Images into Bug Reports

You can now paste images and text from the clipboard, Microsoft Word, and TestTrack's native and web client fields to multi-line text fields in the TestTrack web client. This is an incredibly useful feature that allows you to share screen shots of the bugs you find. You can also drag and drop images from the desktop and other web client fields to multi-line text fields.
