Google will present at 2011 User Conference
Registration for this year's User Conference is already at a record high. And, we are proud to have an unprecedented number of customer presenters taking the stage this year. From managing game assets to scaling to support huge installations, you won't want to miss this year's User Conference. Here's how one company responded to our presenter survey:
Dan Bloch, Google, "Still All on One Server: Perforce at Scale"
Why were you motivated to speak on this topic?
This is what I've been working on for most of the last five years of my life. As the lead administrator of the largest Perforce server on the planet, I've done things which no other Perforce administrator has experienced yet, and I'm excited to be able to share these things.
What are the top 3 take-aways from your talk?
- Perforce supports really large servers.
- But be prepared to spend a lot of your time working on performance issues.
- Pay attention, this may be you in five years.
If you only had 1 tweet for your presentation, what would it be?
Large p4 admins: get fast disks, monitor usage, kill commands as needed, reduce metadata size, offload work, do upgrades.
