What's New in P4V
Another new release of P4V is just around the corner! While the release notes for P4V, P4Admin, and P4Merge have a complete list of all the features and enhancements, I thought I'd mention a couple of my favorites here.
P4V now has shortcuts for quickly adding new paths to workspace views, or for updating a workspace from a template.

What a time-saver! In anticipation of the next time I want to quickly map a new branch to my workspace, here's a big thank-you to P4V.
I sometimes use labels to mark key milestones in a codeline, so P4V's new shortcut for comparing two labels is a nice productivity boost for me.
For example, during a sprint, I might apply a label to the codeline every week. That gives me an easy way to report on progress during the week, and also to figure out what broke if the latest unit tests fail.
With the 2010.2 version of P4V, I can now simply drag and drop one label onto another to start that comparison.
That drag’n’drop opens the diff dialog with the right settings…

Just another time-saving convenience in P4V – and another reason I keep P4V open all day.
