Release Notes for Helix MFA Authenticator (Helix MFA) Version 2018.3 Introduction The Helix Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) Authenticator, or Helix MFA or Helix MFA Authenticator or HMFA, is the standalone desktop app that enables users to select, view, and answer Multi Factor Authentication challenges to securely get access to their Helix contents. This HMFA app can be invoked independently or by other Helix visual clients such as P4V or P4VS. If MFA is enabled by your Perforce administrator in the Helix server, Helix users are required to authenticate themselves with more than their username and password. They must also provide an additional security factor. Some of the common types of factors typically used involve, entering a One Time Password(OTP), or a one-button authentication via mobile apps. From the Perforce downloads page, select the appropriate Windows platform installer type. 2. To launch the installer, run the installation either by accepting the prompt in your Internet browser or by executing the downloaded file directly from the download location. Mac OS X 1. From the Perforce downloads page, select the Mac installer and save the file to disk. 2. To launch the installer, double-click the downloaded file. Linux 1. From the download page, select the appropriate Linux distribution option. For Linux platforms, Helix MFA is packaged in a compressed tar file. 2. To install, uncompress the file with gzip and extract the runtime files into the directory of your choice.
