Open an existing file for edit.
Syntax
p4 edit [-c changelist# -n] file ...Description
Open an existing file for edit. The server records that the current user has opened the file in the current workspace, and changes the file permission from read-only to read/write.
Options

Opens the files for edit within the specified changelist. If this option is not provided, the files are linked to the default changelist. |

Preview which files would be opened for edit, without actually changing any files or metadata. |
