Manage configurables

The Configurables tab allows you to view and set the value of configurables, such as security, and environment variables, such as P4LOG.

Prerequisite: a Helix Core Server 2023.2 (or later) with a server ID. See p4 serverid in Helix Core Command-Line (P4) Reference.

There are hundreds of configurables, so you might want to search for the name or description. For example, a search of "security" filters the results to a small number:

This view shows the the current value of security is the same as the default value.

If you double-click a name, such as security, you can:

• View a description

• Follow the "View technical documentation" link for this specific configurable or environment variable in Helix Core Command-Line (P4) Reference, which often has more details

• View the existing comment, if any

• Set (or unset) the value

• Add a comment, which overwrites any existing comment

When you click Set, the list shows the current value, which in this example is now different from the default value:
