No. It's a free utility layer — no separate license, no renewal, and it leaves your existing Perforce agreements unchanged.
You can use individual Perforce MCPs on their own — the Perforce Agentic Gateway is optional. It adds token-efficient execution, a single install, and the embedded UI builder on top, so you get more out of the same MCPs (even if you've only installed one). And since it's already built and maintained by Perforce, there's little reason to build your own.
Perforce Agentic Gateway includes an Efficiency Dashboard and PAG Metrics, a reporting tool for analyzing token usage over time. Teams can compare gross and net token counts to better understand AI consumption, identify optimization opportunities, and quantify efficiency gains across workflows.
