Report on code reviewsTwo new reports based on code reviews are now available. Code review reports show historical information about a code review and the files in it. These reports can help you see reviews that aren’t complete and any unaddressed comments. They also help you review your code review process to see the types of comments added and save code review process information for audits. Summary reports show the status of each review. Detail reports show unaddressed comments, addressed comments, or both types of comments for each review. To run a code review report, select a Report on Code Reviews option in the Code Reviews window and click Report On. More infoCode review coverage reports show information about file versions in code reviews and if the file reviews are complete or still in progress. These reports can help you decide if you’re ready to ship your product, measure coverage of your code review process, or demonstrate to an auditor that your code was reviewed. To create a code review coverage report, choose Tools > Reports, click Add, select Code Review Coverage, and click OK. More info
Add branch-independent bookmarksYou can add bookmarks to quickly go to files, repositories, and branches you frequently use. Now, you can add bookmarks that navigate to the repository or file on the branch selected in the Source Tree window, which gives you more flexibility to use bookmarks across branches instead of only the branch saved in the bookmark. You can select a navigation option when creating a bookmark: Always go to <BranchName> branch always navigates to the same branch when you select the bookmark and Do not switch branches navigates to the repository or file in the branch selected in the Source Tree window. Enforce minimum comment lengths for specific actionsAdministrators can now set the minimum number of characters for comments entered when users perform specific actions. Previously, the same minimum length was used for all actions. These new settings give you more granular control to capture comments for historical purposes. More info
Usability enhancementsSurround SCM 2015.1 has lots of nice usability enhancements that make work easier for you. You can now:
- View the number of files in a shelf on the Shelves window or in the Edit Shelf dialog box.
- Show or hide files with different contents instead of only different timestamps when viewing working directory differences.
- Edit files in pending changelists from the Pending Changelists window or pane.
- Add Check Out Date as a source file list column, list report column, and filter restriction.
- Perform unindexed searches on indexed branches.
- Get files by the current timestamp in the Surround SCM CLI, which is helpful when using automated build processes.
