Relocating Seapine Headquarters

For the third time in our 17-year history, Kelly and I are relocating our headquarters. In 1995, we started Seapine in our basement on Seapine Court in Maineville, OH. Since then, we’ve moved to increasingly larger and nicer office spaces. As we approached the August 2012 end of our lease of 38,000 sq/ft, we were faced with some tough choices—renew our lease, lease somewhere else, buy a building, or build. For a variety of reasons, including wonderful support and incentives from the City of Mason, OH, we decided to build and become landlords in the process. On August 26, we will take occupancy of our 50,000 sq/ft new $7M building optimized for working the Seapine way. Considering we broke ground in March of this year, it is has been quite an impressive sprint for our partner, Design Build Solutions (DBS), to construct the building in six short months. I can’t speak highly enough of DBS, from their professionalism to their quality. If you ever find yourself in need of a building firm, DBS is your first stop. With the insight and assistance of Bob May, our owner-rep, DBS has made what could have been a disruptive and arduous project, a relatively fun venture. As Steve Job’s famously said, “the journey is the reward,” and Kelly and I, along with Seapine are living the journey and looking forward to the next chapter of Seapine’s history.
