He has done integrations using the API, including P4OFC, and P4Python, and written articles and presented at industry events on all aspects of configuration management. With co-author Neal Firth, he wrote the book 'Learning Perforce SCM' which was published by PACKT Publishing in September 2013.

He was Chair of the specialist group for Change, Configuration and Release Management of the British Computer Society for seven years, and is still active on the committee.

When not immersed in configuration management, he helps coach his son's under 9 rugby side. He has practiced the Japanese martial art of Aikido for over 20 years and runs a dojo near his home in SW London.

Ajay Patel is Vice President of ISV Solutions & Application Services for vCloud Air, responsible for building a rich catalog of application & data services for developing both traditional and new cloud based applications, and providing a Hybrid Services Platform for ISV’s tomove to SaaS.

Prior to VMware, Ajay was leading the core middleware business, Cloud Application Foundation, for Oracle.  Under his leadership, Oracle Exalogic, a middleware engineered system, became the fastest-growing business and Oracle WebLogic, a Java EE Application Server, was #1 in the market during his entire tenure.  He also launched Oracle Java Cloud Service and set the roadmap for Oracle’s private cloud solution.
