Tokio Marine North America Services is a shared services company that provides many different capabilities to the group insurance companies that Tokio Marine holds in North America.

We’re continuously looking for opportunities to optimize that environment while still preserving the unique identity of each insurance company and supporting their individual strengths. If we find something that looks like it’s going to move the needle—whether that’s improving response time to quotes or delivering a better customer experience—those are the areas we act on quickly.

We started using the Delphix solution about five years ago, primarily to assist with data masking in our nonproduction environments.

Over the past few years, a number of government agencies have implemented data protection and data privacy requirements, such as the New York Department of Financial Services and GDPR.

We launched an internal risk assessment to understand where customer data existed and how we could minimize its presence in preproduction and lower environments. Our goal was to avoid having multiple copies of customer data across these environments.
