Perforce Goes Wild in San Francisco
Merge 2013 speakers slated for April 24-26 Perforce Conference
What’s next? Celebrity sightings? Merge 2013, the Perforce Conference will bring together hundreds of Perforce Software customers, experts and innovators, and looks to break through pre-conceived notions of where versioning does or doesn’t belong.
Attendees will hear how Lucasfilm, best known for creating the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movie franchises, uses Perforce proxies over a high-latency network to share big data halfway around the world. Three experts from Pixar animation studios will reveal how they continue to version everything, including an exclusive look at their archiving and deduping solutions — aptly named the Underminer and Shrink Ray.
You don’t have to be a movie buff to benefit, either. Intel will explain how they integrate defect tracking, code review and builds with Perforce, automating a solution for end-to-end software development workflow. SAP, EMC, GE Healthcare, NVIDIA, Salesforce and many more will illustrate how they are pushing the Perforce envelope. And for three days, attendees can ask all the questions they want of these innovators at networking events, breakout sessions, demos and talks.
Merge 2013 will be held April 24-26, 2013 in San Francisco. The complete list of sessions and speakers shows tremendous variety, according to Perforce CEO Christopher Seiwald — which is reflected in the conference theme, “In the Wild.”
"Perforce’s wide reach extends beyond traditional development to truly version everything for everyone, even non-technical users. This conference will bring together developers and executives for an intersection of ideas, discussions and debate,” says Seiwald. Perforce executives will draw the roadmap of product directions for 2013 and beyond, into the distributed versioning backcountry and bounding outward, bringing versioning power to new users via Commons.
Wondering what to do about Git? Is your overseas productivity getting lost in translation? Worried about intellectual property strategy? Merge 2013 sessions will cover such hot topics in enterprise version management as Git Fusion, globally distributed development, DevOps, virtualization, and IP governance and security.
For the truly enthused, there’s even pre-conference training available, ranging from “Battle School” for administrators to the “Git Fusion Bootcamp.” To register for more wildlife than you can shake a stick at, and more fun than a geek cruise, visit www.perforce.com/merge2013.
