AI can generate more code, content, and assets than ever before. But generating more work doesn't automatically create better outcomes.
As AI becomes a core part of modern development, organizations are grappling with new questions around governance, traceability, quality control, and productivity measurement. How do you track the growing volume of AI-generated work? How do you maintain confidence in what's being shipped? And perhaps most importantly, how do you prove AI is delivering value proportional to its investment?
In this session, we'll explore the emerging AI Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC), the processes that support successful AI adoption, and the metrics teams can use to measure whether AI is truly moving the needle.
What We'll Cover
- Building an AI-ready development workflow: Key components of a successful AI-DLC, where to keep humans in the loop, and common pitfalls teams encounter as AI usage expands.
- Introducing guardrails for AI-generated work: The role of code review, process enforcement, and governance in maintaining quality and compliance.
- Lessons from the P4 development team: How the team built and deployed an agent orchestrator harness to coordinate their "army" of specialized AI agents, decreasing their release cycle from three months to two and nearly doubling their release content output.
- Measuring success in the AI era: A preview of P4 Signals and how engineering leaders can use productivity metrics, DORA insights, and AI efficiency indicators to better understand team performance and AI adoption.
Whether you're leading infrastructure, managing engineering teams, or contributing code yourself, this session will provide practical guidance for preparing your teams for the next phase of software development.
