At Perforce we have 13 guiding principles that reflect the Perforce culture we here know and love. There are two in particular I'd like to share today:

  • We talk and listen. We like feedback.
  • We appreciate creative and practical solutions. There might be a better way.

A year and a half ago we launched a website called P4Ideax to provide another channel to get that feedback we crave, and to create a place where people could share their creative and practical solutions with us and with each other. The site was hugely successful with hundreds of ideas, comments, and votes, but we needed to improve how we channel that creative energy and give feedback about ideas we implement.

I'm happy to say that last month we re-launched P4IdeaX with a new look and a proper process to support your great ideas. Once a month or so, I will post here to the blog with the list of ideas that have been implemented in the product. At the same time I will remove these "graduates" from P4IdeaX so we can all focus on the latest and greatest suggestions. I'll also be generating a monthly internal report for the Perforce product management team so that they can see exactly what the community is asking for.

As always, we are here to serve you, so if you have any thoughts, comments, or questions please feel free to post here in the comments, the Perforce forums, P4IdeaX, or track me down on Twitter. P4IdeaX will always be a work in-progress, so please let me know how we can improve it to help you.

Now get out and vote!
