An Update on P4V, P4VS and Swarm

Helix Swarm

New in the Perforce Visual Client (P4V) this month is the Swarm integration, which we’ve polished and can’t wait for you to try. Figuring out how to create, update and open Swarm reviews is now easier than ever thanks to new context menus and dialogs. And don’t worry—if you’ve gotten used to the "old way"—using #review and @mentions in the change description—that still works too.

For those who asked for a better way, it’s now easy to work through reviews without leaving P4V.  A new release of P4VS, our Visual Studio plugin, is currently under development and will also include the Swarm integration.

Swarm integration

We made you a little movie, which highlights the Swarm integration. For those of you who like to read, we wrote you some documentation.

In addition to some bug swatting in our latest release of Swarm, we added options for controlling project email notifications as well as the ability to restrict project creation to admins.

Swarm also has enhancements to history searching that lets users search by labels, dates, change numbers, and revision ranges.

And, as of 2015, Swarm is now included as part of your Perforce license and is free for all users.

So grab the latest releases of Swarm, P4V and P4VS to review and collaborate with your teams. Happy Swarming!
