Helix ALM 2018.4 Enhances Usability and Collaboration
We wasted no time getting another Helix ALM release into your hands before the end of 2018. Helix ALM 2018.4 is now available! Take advantage of these new features and enhancements.
See Completion Status for Test Run Suites
In our last release, we introduced test suites in the web client. In this release, we’re giving you more visibility into test run suites. At a glance, you can see the testing status for test runs in a specific suite.
In the Folders list, select a test run suite and look at the progress bar at the top.
Manage Watched Items in One Place
Watching items is a simple way to stay informed when important items change. Now, in the web client, it’s easy to see and manage a list of all the items you are watching in one place.
Click the bell icon at the top of the page to see a list of items you are watching. From this list, you can see any changes since the last time you viewed the list. You can also go to specific items you are watching and stop watching items.
Manage API Keys
API keys provide a secure way to authenticate requests made using the Helix ALM REST API. Instead of authenticating with and storing a username and password, you use a key, which consists of a key ID and a key secret.
We already create and manage these keys in the desktop client. Now, you can do the same in the web client.
Create Informative Emails and Matrix Reports With New Field Codes
Field codes are variables that are replaced with a specific value when emails are sent or reports are generated.
You can now use additional field codes in emails and matrix reports to provide more information about users and items. You can include field codes to provide:
- The full path to a folder that an item is in.
- A ttstudio or http link to open a requirement document.
- The current user’s full name, first name, last name, email address, and phone numbers.
- Values from the last or all Found by records on an issue, including the description.
- The first name, email address, and phone number for the first or last Found by user on an issue.
Work With Links in the REST API
You can now get, update, and create links for issues, requirements, requirement documents, test cases, and test runs using the REST API.
We also made lots of other improvements in this release. For a full list, check out the release notes.
