Yes. P4 Plan is the current name for Hansoft. In 2025, Perforce rebranded Helix Core as P4 and brought related products, including Hansoft, under the P4 platform.
Why it changed: Bringing these digital creation products, tools, and APIs together under the P4 platform creates a more connected ecosystem and helps us deliver a more seamless customer experience.
The free version of P4 Plan is a self-hosted solution. This means no limitations on storage no matter which plan you’re on.

Web access is only available on the Cloud and On-Prem plans.
Both plans include the same core features. With Cloud, Perforce hosts P4 Plan and handles upgrades and maintenance. With On-Prem, you deploy it on your own servers or in your own cloud environment, manage it yourself, and get full SDK access.
No, P4 Plan is its own standalone product.
By integrating P4 with P4 Plan, users can link changelists from P4V directly to their assigned P4 Plan tasks, so every file change is traceable to the work it supports. Changelist details appear right in P4 Plan, task information can be added to changelist descriptions, and teams using P4 Code Review can jump from a P4 Plan item straight to the related changelist.

Special users, also known as placeholder users, are a type of test user that is created only for planning purposes. A placeholder user does not have a license and cannot log in to P4 Plan to update any items, but can be assigned tasks in the Planning view.
Special users help team leads model hiring, project staffing, and long-term assignments without affecting team members’ to-do lists.
