About the Showcase
The Art of Version Control is an open 3D art competition that invites character artists, level designers, 3D modelers, and digital creators of all kinds to share their craft and process.
This is your chance to showcase your original work and concepts for some real recognition and some seriously great prizes.
Your art will be reviewed by judges from leading game studios, and you’ll gain visibility across the game development community.
The deadline for all artwork submissions is 11:59pm ET on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Best Character or Creature
From stylized heroes to terrifying creatures, this award recognizes characters that feel alive. Judges will look for strong anatomy, expressive silhouettes, clean topology, and well-crafted materials.
Bonus points
Include concept art, as well as versioning and variants that show your creative process.
Best Prop or Accessory
Great props make a world interactive. This category celebrates props—hard-surface or organic—that demonstrate precision, creativity, clean topology, and well-crafted materials. Weapons, tools, wearables, structures, or set pieces are all welcome.

Best Vehicle
This award honors vehicles that balance form and function, from a sleek sci-fi craft to rugged real-world machines. Judges will look for structure, details, clean topology, and well-crafted materials.

This award is about how you work. Judges want to see your creative journey—from concept art to refinement and polish. Share your concept art, early sketches, and experiments along with your final 3D art submission to be considered for this award.

How to Enter
- Fill out the registration form.
- Download P4 One.
- Connect P4 One to the P4 Server we’ll provide (refer to your welcome email for login details and setup instructions).
- Version and refine your art in P4 One.
- Submit your 3D art and a README file through P4 One.

Frequently Asked Questions
This is a 3D game art challenge by Perforce.
Submit your 3D models of characters, props, vehicles, environments, creatures—anything you’ve created. Get your artwork seen by professionals in the industry and win prizes and recognition.
You can submit any original 3D artwork that you own.
- No copyrighted characters or logos you don’t own.
- All artwork must be created by you, as a human.
- Less than 10% AI assistance allowed.
- You can sign up once and submit multiple pieces for consideration
- When you’re ready to submit, put each submission in its own subfolder so we can tell them apart easily.
Perforce P4 and P4 One are being used to handle and manage submissions. Work must be submitted in Perforce P4 One, but registrants can generate and create their models in any digital software (as long as less than 10% of the work is AI generated).
Join the P4 One Discord to get help, ask questions, and connect with other participants throughout the contest.

The Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, Canada (excluding Quebec), the United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea, Vietnam and the European Economic Area who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is older, at the time of entry.
