Collaborative Agile Task Board Boosts TestTrack
Agile methodologies are all about speed and simplicity. In the early days of Agile, simplicity was represented in the form of 3 X 5 notecards, which were used to record user stories, tasks, and feature backlogs, among other things. Even today, most teams exploring Agile will start off with a whiteboard and stack of index cards. After the novelty wears off, and the team gets into the thick of a release, they start looking for software tools that can maintain the collaborative nature of the whiteboard while adding the ability to automate some work and also add collaboration with remote team members. To meet this need for teams using TestTrack, Seapine developed the Agile Task Board. The Task Board is a web-based solution for managing Agile artifacts within your existing TestTrack installation. Team members use their TestTrack login to access sprint and release data in a view that mimics the whiteboard and notecards that help to make Agile so collaborative. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="588" caption="TestTrack Agile Task Board"][/caption] The Agile Task Board is completely configurable, allowing your team to work in a more collaborative interface while maintaining the automation and traceability that you count on from TestTrack. The Task Board pulls your existing projects and associated folder structures, and displays them in a whiteboard or Kanban-like format. The right side of the screen is used to show project stages, which are based on your existing workflow rules in TestTrack. From this interface, team members can:
- Get a quick view of project status, with color-coding based on artifact type or status.
- Drill down into specific artifacts, such as user stories, tasks, or issues, to read details or make an update.
- Drag/drop tasks along the project workflow during planning and project status sessions.
