Sending TestTrack Notifications to Your Smartphone
Often while you are away from the office, you need to know what is happening in your TestTrack project. If you have a laptop and access to the Internet, no problem; the TestTrack web interface has all the power you need. But what if you only have a smartphone? Is there any way that TestTrack can notify your phone that something needs your attention? Actually, there are two ways. User Options - Notifications Besides the Automation Rules defined by your administrator, every TestTrack user can create their own email notifications. Like the Automation Rules, users can create rules that use filters, trigger events, and email templates so the messages can be for a general event, like a new issue created in the project, or specific items, like an issue of a specific severity has been assigned to you. The messages are sent to the email account defined in your user account and cannot be changed. You can deactivate and reactivate the notifications in case you want to receive these emails only when you're traveling. The emails are set in the Notifications section of the User Options. RSS Feeds TestTrack filters can be published on the Internet as RSS feeds. Once your administrator enables this function, set the Share value of any filter to Publish. In the Filter list window, the RSS icon will appear next to the filter. Select the filter and click the Subscribe button. In the Subscribe dialog, copy the URL for the filter and send it to your phone. From your phone's web browser, use the filter's URL to see all records that pass the filter. No license is needed. I've included an image from my iPhone as an example. While you away from the office, you don't have to be cut-off from TestTrack. Use these TestTrack features to keep you up to date.
